CSL MAG’s Regional Wonders: Éislek
Nestled in the picturesque northern region of Luxembourg lies Éislek- the renowned hiking destination known for its scenic views and inviting trails. CSL MAG had the pleasure to explore Éislek’s natural beauty, immersing ourselves in its cultural significance to the region. With over 200 hiking trails spanning 1,900 kilometers there are endless possibilities to discover. In collaboration with Visit Éislek, here is our full itinerary for a day full of adventure.
Molberlee
We suggest you begin your journey at Molberlee. Located near Hoscheid, Molberlee is known for its rocky ridges that overlook the Schlinder valley. The mountain ridges contribute to Molberlee’s unique biodiversity as a designated forest reserve.
Address: 9376 Hoscheid. You can reach the Molberlee by hiking the Éislek Pad Hoscheid, the local hiking trail PH 2 or the sonorous trail “Klangwanderwee”.
Viewpoint Gringlee & Bourscheid Castle
Next, check out Viewpoint Gringlee located on Escapardenne Lee Trail or the local hiking trail BS 4 for an incredible panoramic view of Bourscheid Castle. Bourscheid Castle was built in the 10th century, standing as Luxembourg’s largest castle. In fact, you can take guided audio tours around the castle in seven different languages. Guided Tours can also be booked on the Visit Éislek Website.

Burfelt Belvedere
Heading for another breathtaking view, hike to Burfelt Belvedere. Recently constructed in 2016, Burfelt Belvedere stands 70 meters above Upper Sûre lake offering panoramic views of the water. You have the opportunity to stand on its crafted wooden structure with a glass railing, giving a perfectly clear view of the lake.
You can reach the platform by hiking the Éislek Pad Insenborn or the local hiking trail ES1.

Lultzhausen Footbridge
Up next, check out Lultzhausen Footbridge. Located by the youth hostel, this floating bridge is a big attraction for hikers. If driving, there is a free parking lot which is about a 5 minute walk from the bridge.

Houfëls viewpoint
For your last viewpoint, you must see Houfëls viewpoint. Here you can enjoy a view over the Sûre valley. There are also several trails you can take from here to continue on your journey!

Esch-sur-Sûre
Finally, wrap up your day in Esch-sur-Sûre by strolling through the old city. The village of Esch-sur-Sûre is located in the river’s meander. What’s even more charming about this village is that it's set at the foot of Luxembourg’s oldest castle. You can explore the castle ruins for free, so make sure to take advantage of that!
