The Best Places for Gin and Tonic in Luxembourg City

Unless you’re walking around with your eyes and ears closed, you’ll notice that Luxembourg has a thing for gin. Balloon glasses, garnishes, and Fever Trees abound from the fanciest restaurants to the tiniest corner bars.

Spot One: Bistro Beim Renert

Located at 20 Place Guillaume II in the heart of Luxembourg City, this Bistro and bar offers a wide variety of Gins that do not disappoint! In the warm months you can even enjoy your drink on the beautiful outdoor terrace. Other than gin, this bistro offers a range of food options including: meatballs, tapas, salads, and is even vegetarian friendly! You can visit Bistro Beim Renert on Mondays from 10am-3pm and Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-12:45am.

Spot Two: Oscar’s Bar

Located close to the Museum of Natural History at 9 Bisserweg, Oscar’s bar is one of the best places to get a gin and tonic. This place is on our to-go list due to the fact that the terrace has a spectacular view of the Alzette River, and it’s a perfect spot to enjoy drinks with a few friends! The kitchen also offers a new food menu every week!

Spot Three: Max + Moritz

Located at 2-4 Avenue du X Septembre in Luxembourg City, this Bar is heaven for gin lovers. Max + Moritz offers 35 different kinds of gins, wine sold by the bottle, and even ginger beer that is brewed in-house! Spot Four: Go Ten

Go Ten is located at 10 rue Marchés-aux-Herbes, right in the center of Luxembourg City. This stylish and modern bar opened its doors in 2009 and it offers one of the largest selections of gins and tonics in the region! The staff is well-educated on all the drinks and will counsel you when making your tough decision. Other than gin, this unique bar offers year round outdoor seating with heated benches so you and your friends can enjoy the outdoors during the winter!

This private gin spot is open Wednesday to Saturday from 5pm until 1am.

Spot Eight: Um Plateau

Our last spot is a classic pick. Um Plateau is known for its amazing terrace, innovative small plates and cool interior design. It’s also known for its incredible selection of G&Ts. The mixologist behind the bar will pair gins from all over the world with the perfect tonic and garnishes. Even the biggest gin expert is sure to discover something new. Beware, there’s no such thing as going for a single drink at Um Plateau…after one sip you’ll be hooked.

Spot Nine: Shinzo Bar

This specialty cocktail bar is a one that we can’t get enough of! Their cocktails are some of the best that we’ve tried and their G&T is one that we keep going back for. Yes you can opt for the classic gin but our recommendation is to choose one of the blended gin drinks as they are fabulous!

But of course don’t take our word for it. The appreciation of gin and tonic continues to thrive and survive in Luxembourg, and half of the excitement is discovering the new places as they crop up! Let us know your favourite place to sip on a G&T and we’ll add it to the list!
