Two Years of Wolt in Luxembourg: Delivering everything from 600,000 Burgers to 720 Tennis Balls
In just two years, Wolt has become a key part of everyday life in Luxembourg, delivering everything from quick dinners to large-scale event orders.
To mark the milestone, Wolt has partnered with CSL to launch a giveaway, offering 3 lucky winners Wolt gift cards.
Burgers Lead the Way
Luxembourg’s top order might not surprise you. More than 600,000 burger meals have been delivered, with the Big Mac from McDonald’s ranking as the most popular single item.
Pizza, kebabs, and Italian dishes follow closely behind, alongside favorites like sandwiches, sushi, and Indian cuisine. The most ordered restaurants include Burger King, McDonald’s, Simon Says Chicken, Souvlaki, and Subway, highlighting a mix of global chains and local favorites.
When Orders Get Big
Some of the platform’s biggest moments go far beyond everyday meals. The largest restaurant order to date was 60 pizzas delivered at once from Il Tocco, totaling more than €1,000.
Retail orders are just as notable. Luxcaddy handled a grocery order worth over €1,100, largely made up of wine and champagne, while Tennis Cube fulfilled an order of 720 tennis balls worth around €1,500.
These examples show how Wolt is increasingly used for events, celebrations and group occasions.
Beyond Food Delivery
Wolt’s growth in Luxembourg extends well beyond restaurants. Nearly 900 restaurants and retailers are now on the platform, with grocery and retail orders rising quickly.
Businesses like Luxcaddy and Cactus Shoppi are seeing strong demand, as customers turn to fast, on-demand delivery for more than just meals.
A Platform for Everyday and Special Moments
Fridays and Saturdays remain the busiest days for orders, while Christmas Eve sees significantly lower activity. These patterns reflect how Wolt fits into both routine and occasion-based use, from weeknight convenience to larger gatherings.
Looking Ahead
What began as a food delivery service is quickly evolving into a broader marketplace. As Wolt continues to expand its retail offering, it is becoming an increasingly central part of how Luxembourg shops, eats, and celebrates.
